Ok, Now one of the things that our listeners want to know, how do I quit my day job and start a business?

A lot of them are asking that. They want the independence.

Now, if I can convince Bob to do that, Gordon's going to be pissed at me. So don't listen to this Bob. Ok?

Paul, the cornerstone of your strategy is quit your job first, right?

Well, I don't think that's necessarily true.

That's not what we're doing.

I was just kidding.

That's not what we're going.

No. There's a couple things you can do. One is the best of all possible worlds, is to quit, say you're making, I don't know, pick a number, say 40 bucks an hour. You quit your job at 40 bucks an hour and then sell your same services back to that company for 80 bucks an hour as a consultant.

Ok.

Now that's a good strategy to pull off.

Now, why would they pay 80 bucks when they've been paying 40?

Actually, they don't actually pay 40 when they pay 40.

Because with all benefits and bullshit, they're probably paying like 60.

You're in a different place on their books.

Unless they were just waiting for you to quit. So make sure they just weren't waiting for you to quit.

Right. No, you have to actually have a value to the company, that is true.

Ultimately that may be why Gordon gave me this tip.

It could be.
