Hi, this is Joan and this is episode 66 of The Prosperity Show. Thanks for tuning in. Our main site is prosperityplace.com where you can find lots of information to help you improve your relationship with money and yourself. If you want to contact me, my email address is joan@theprosperityshow.com. We also have a voice mail that I've set up. I had this once before and not that many people used it, so we stopped. But I want to try it one more time, and it's a great number that I got. It's 206-money48. That's 206-money48. And I'd love to hear from you.
Today I'd like to start with something that I read that Brian Tracey wrote. And he says, "remember that success is rare. Only one person in 100 becomes wealthy in the course of a lifetime. That's 1%. Only 5% achieve financial independence. That means that the odds against you are 19:1. The only way that you're going to achieve your financial goals is if you get really serious. To succeed you must get serious. You must get busy. You must get active. You must get going. Remember, everything counts." The part here that I think is important is that you've got a 5% chance of achieving financial independence. And I believe that everyone of you that's listening would like to achieve that. And doing it is not that difficult. Well, it's not easy, it's just simple. As my book says, the "Build your Money Muscles-9 Simple Exercises for Improving your Relationship with Money". And the first chapter of my book is about conditioning yourself for change. Cause if you're not wiling to change, nothing you read about, nothing you try is going to work. Because, as we've said many times, your money and everything about your life is congruent with who you are. And in order to change anything in your life, you have to change. That's just how it works. If you have another way to make it work, let me know. But from everything I've experienced in my lifetime, and I'm a lot older than a lot of you, I can tell you that life doesn't change unless you change. And most people hate to change. They resist change like crazy. It's amazing how people resist change. If you look at your life, I don't care whether you're in your 20s, 30, 40s, 50s or 60s or older, you're going to see that there are certain things you do the same way over and over again. I'm going to suggest that as you approach the new year, that you change something at least once a week. Change it. It doesn't matter what it is. And this will affect your levels of prosperity. Because until you get used to the process of change, you're not going to change. Doesn't that make sense? It's such a simple principle. It means being flexible, being able to shift the way you look at things. It all depends at how you look at it. And I know I got an email from... |
