Business and Seeing Things from a different Point of View

Listen to this podcast

Hi this is Joan and this is episode 36 of The Prosperity Show. Thanks for tuning in. Today we're going to talk about seeing things from a new point of view, in effect, creating an alternative reality. But before we get to that, I just want to remind you that our main site is prosperityplace.com, where you can find lots of information about improving your relationship with money and yourself. And if you'd like to contact me, then send email to joan@theprosperityshow.com. That's joan@theprosperityshow.com. And I want to thank everybody's who's been writing to me and telling me how much they like the podcast. It certainly does encourage me to keep doing this. And I'm so glad that so many of you are finding value in what we're doing here.

And today we're going to talk about seeing things from a new point of view. And the reason I chose this is because, for the last week I really have been seeing things from a new point of view. As some of you know I had to have my retina re-attached, this is the second time since December, and the first week after they do this surgery, I had to sit with my head down, parallel to the floor. So I was seeing things differently, and I have this gas bubble in my eye which keeps me from really seeing well out of one eye. So everything takes on an entirely different look. And what is amazing to me is by not seeing the way I normally do, I find that my self confidence is affected, that I don't feel as strong and secure when I'm talking to other people, even now that I'm standing up straight, because I don't have the feeling that I'm seeing everything that I could be seeing. So it's a different way of seeing my world on a daily basis, but I also see that there are advantages to being forced into seeing life from a different point of view. There's a tendency for people to get stuck in grooves, in grooves that are formed usually early in childhood. And when we're putting our persona together as we grow up, we don't say, well, let me try it this way and I'll see if there's an alternative. We just kind of try things and if they sort of work we just go with it, and then we build the next thing on it, and the next thing on it. And as children we don't question our beliefs or the basic philosophies that we're building our life on. And by the time we get to adults, we assume that things are so, and this is how they are, and we don't try to change them. And very often our finances, since this podcast is about finances and prosperity, our finances are the result of all of the beliefs, and thoughts and behaviors that we've accumulated over...
