Supporting Yourself Through Small Business

Listen to this podcast

Hi this is Joan and this is episode 7 of The Prosperity Show. And it's really nice to have you here today. Our main site is prosperityplace.com where you can find lots of information about improving your relationship with money and yourself. And today what I'd like to talk about is the whole idea of support. When people talk about prosperity and about increasing their income, really what we're talking about is supporting yourself on a whole new level-bringing in more of what you need to support who you are and what you want to do in the world. Who you really are and want to do in the world. If you've been under-earning, then that's not supporting yourself. If you've been staying in a state of debt and never reaching what you would call your potential, then in a lot of ways you're not supporting yourself. And prosperity is really so much more than how much money you have. It is about supporting yourself, but not necessarily financially. Because your life is really an external reflection of what's going on internally. If you support yourself internally, then that will be reflected for you in higher income and a better standard of living. And when I talk about support, what I'm talking about is supporting yourself on every level-emotionally, financially, spiritually, and physically. Because when you provide the environment of support, when you learn to trust and support yourself, then you can actually create a more prosperous life for yourself. And let's look at these different areas because I see so many people who say to me, "gee, I really wish I had more money, I really wish I had enough money to give away, to do what I want to do, I want the freedom to do whatever I want to do." And really what people are saying is, I want this huge load of money to just kind of plop down on my head so I can just spend it. Without realizing that when large sums of money come into a person's life, they have to deal with that money. And it's not that having money is any easier than not having money, it's just a little more comfortable dealing with it. It's a different kind of life. But if you're supporting a not-enough habit or a just-enough habit, or less-than-enough habit, then there's a pretty good chance that no matter how much money you have, you're going to be in that same position. So let's take a look today at some of the things you can do that are not financial, that you can do to support yourself to begin to establish an energy of support, a consciousness of support, so that supporting yourself is your way of life. And so, let's start out with the easiest thing to look at, which is physical. Do you support yourself physically? By that I mean, do you do what you need to do to take care of this vehicle that you're driving...
