Hi this is Joan and this is the first episode of The Prosperity Show, so thanks for tuning in. Our main site is prosperityplace.com where we promote a holistic approach to financial health and since prosperity is as much a state of mind as a financial condition, on The Prosperity Show podcast we're going to share what we believe is information to help you improve, not only your relationship with money, but also your relationship with yourself and the world around you. Each show will last about 10 to 15 minutes and we'll sometimes have some interviews with experts or people who have in fact created happy, healthy and prosperous lives and have gone through a whole lot of changes. And we'll probably share some books and audios or websites and anything else that can help you help yourself to financial health. In today's episode I want to talk about just generally what money is and how you can develop, begin to develop a better relationship with it. Before we go on, though, I'd just like to say briefly why I got into this. Years ago I was really a mess, physically, emotionally, financially. I just could barely function in life. And one day I just said, "this is not the life I'm going to live." It just wasn't the way I wanted to go on, and I just said, there's got to be another way. And so I did a lot of studying, went to therapy, did a whole lot of things and have gone to the point now where I live a comfortable life. I've got pretty much everything I want, and I'm building a really successful business. I've got a website. I love my website, 20,000 people a month come to visit it. I've got almost 100,000 on my mailing list, so I feel like I've reached a point of connection with the world, which is really important to me. And now I just want to share what I've learned along the way with people who also want to make some life changes and might be looking for a piece of information here and there that might help them along their way. And I really believe that no matter where your life is no, no matter what our life is now, that you have the opportunity to change it and you can choose to live differently. Is it easy to change? Not always. Because whoever you are today is a habit. You've been doing it all your life. You really know how to do it, and you don't know how to do anything else. I've always wondered why someone, and this is a common problem among people who do any kind of work in the self improvement field. Is that lots of people sign up for change, and very few people really make significant changes in their life. They might appear to make changes, for example, someone will be in a particular financial position and suddenly they're earning a whole lot more money. And time goes by and before you know it they're right back where they started. And I always wondered why that was, and so...
