Hello and welcome to another episode of on-demand radio with The Market Guys. I'm AJ Monte and today we have a special treat for you. As our guest we have Bill Scharf who is an actor, producer, stunt man, director, you name it, he's done it in the world of film and TV. Now, thank you Bill for joining us. I appreciate your time.
You're welcome. Glad to be here. Thanks for having me.
You know Bill, one of the things I want to first bring out to our audience is the opportunities that are out there for people to invest and make some money on the film industry. Obviously Hollywood is not letting all their secrets out, and we do know that many of our listeners are outside the U.S., let's cover some of the first things that people should know about when thinking about getting into the film business as an investment. What are some of those secrets? Tell us.
Well, some of the secrets, back in the 80s there were a lot of film scams in the film industry. And in that, that was not necessarily they were scams, but they were not well planned productions. They didn't have distribution, they paid too much for their talent, so on and so forth, so the product was really expensive and had nowhere to sell it. Today we have so many creative business models for film. And with so many revenue streams, we have DVD, we have paid TV, we have pay-per-view, we have foreign films, TV, etc. And now with the new digital downloads, that opens up an additional revenue stream for us. Independent film, movies under $10 million can prove to be very profitable if done properly.
Let's take a step back here and may I please re-introduce you to our audience and there's something that you need to know about our audience as well. First of which many of our listeners have fairly high goals set for themselves. I know this for a fact because I've met many people in Europe, throughout Asia, into Canada most recently, and I know people are looking at the stock market as maybe their sole source of income or return on investment. But what we're trying to do here for everyone on this program, is to show them a vehicle that can realistically, according to most people's expectations, realistically exceed many of the goals that they have set for themselves. Now we're taking about potential profits, even on the low end of anywhere from one to two hundred percent over a two-year period. Now I'm not going to get into all the details, I just want to explain the potential here so that those who are interested in maybe looking at another source of revenue, or another type of an investment I would call an alternative investment, this is one they could look into. Secondly, to reintroduce you, I know that you've been involved with some of the more popular movies that are out... |
