Good morning everybody. Thanks for tuning in and subscribing to the Debt Podcast. As you know, my name is Jay Fleischman, and today is Tuesday, October 18, 2005. We're going to jump straight into a pet peeve of mine, actually. I was driving about a week ago and I drove by a McDonald's. I got a little hungry and I went into the drive through window. And when I got to the front of the drive through window, I noticed the all-too-familiar sign for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and I was wondering to myself, why would anybody ever pay for a fast food bill on a credit card? It seems to me that if you've got a bill for $10, why are you pulling out your credit card? If you have to use your credit card to be able to afford your Happy Meal at McDonald's, I think you've got bigger problems than you may even realize. And it struck me that there are so many different places that you can use your credit cards now, and it's almost like, walking down the street and people throwing illegal drugs at you. You can use your credit card at McDonald's, and certainly Burger King, Wendy's all of those major fast food outlets. You can also use your credit card at the pharmacy. We've got CVS and Walgreens and Duane Reade, and I'm sure that wherever it is that you're listening to, you've got some major chains as well, you can go into your pharmacy and you can use your credit card. Certainly at the supermarket, gas station, pretty much anywhere that you can spend money, you can spend money on your credit card. And I wonder, from time to time, how many times people pull their credit cards out to purchase something as small as a pack of cigarette. Well, those are fairly expensive at lest in New York, they're over $7 a pack. Or, perhaps they use it for a can of soda, or in some places...
