Today's show is a little bit shorter because it's a lot later than it normally is. As we are speaking with another, it's slightly after 9 o'clock eastern time because I spent most of my day in court and traveling back and forth, and then catching up on some office work, so I didn't have a chance to do a show earlier today. So many of you are actually going to be picking up this show on Wednesday the 11th. For that reason, I have decided that we're just going to just do a resolution helper for today, so that if you're picking up the show on Wednesday, you'll have a short show with a resolution helper back ended with another resolution helper, as well as a complete show. Tomorrow we'll be dipping into some listener Q&A, I've got a bunch of emails that have been sent to me over the course of the past few weeks, so I think that that'll be useful. And today we're only going to be doing a resolution helper for you. So let's jump right into it, shall we?
Today's resolution helper deals with your television, which is the one thing that so many people take for granted. Now, when we look at your television, what we're really looking at is your cable, your satellite, and your movie rentals, be they from Blockbuster or a local video rental chain, or pay-per-view. To start off with, your cable or your satellite. What you need to do is to really take stock of what it is that you're watching. Now, I'm not telling you that you're watching too much TV, although studies tend to say that Americans definitely do watch too much TV. What I'm talking about is what channels are you watching? So many of us when we first get our cable or satellite television are given a basket of different channels that we're able to get. 500 or 1000 channels at a low monthly rate. AT the beginning when you first sign up, you're given a break. And the reason why they give you a break is the same reason why credit card companies give you a low rate to begin with. They want to hook you, they want to get you addicted to certain channels, so that when the monthly rates begin, you really don't have a choice. You're already hooked on the station. Now, there's typically at least in most packages, your basic, your family plan, and then you start getting into the paid stuff. You start getting into your HBOs, your Showtimes, your Cinemaxs, all of those channels, and in addition...
